Pin Bush Flexible Couplings

A pin bush type flexible couplings is a modified flange coupling that connects to transmit power while damping vibrations and accommodating small misalignments, using pin bolts with rubber bushings between two cast iron hubs on driver and driven shafts provides a flexible, cost effective and robust connection commonly used in industrial machinery and motor drives.

Construction And Assembly

It is made of high grade cast iron flange hub mounted on the driving and driven shafts. High tensile steel bolts covered by rubber bush elements insert in one side of flange hub and tighten with spring washer and nut at the other side of second flange hub. Rubber bush over the bolts gives “cushioning” resilient buffers effects absorb shock load and vibration protecting connected equipments.

It gives small angular and parallel shaft misalignments.

Lubrication free couplings only visual and physical inspection require.

Maintenance

As simplicity of design there are only wear items is rubber bush and couple bolts (pin) there are two main alements are generally replasible items by the visual inspection if squeeze the bush, show surface cracks or are permanently deformed, replace entire set with couple bolts.
